Mission Statement
The aim of Armenian Church Charities is to promote faith and knowledge in the teachings and character of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in the manner understood by the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Armenian Church Charities aims to help relieve suffering of people, regardless of their race or national origin, advance the faith of the Armenian Church in a meaningful way, and in so doing, draw more people into her fold.
Ara Karamanian, MD
President
An ordained subdeacon of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Ara has served in various capacities in several parishes. He previously served as chairman of the parish council at his local parish. Ara spent one year studying at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary. He is also a board certified diagnostic radiologist as well as a vascular and interventional radiologist running his medical practice in Houston, TX.
Ani Frankian-Vernor
Board Member
As a child, Ani performed in the children’s choir while attending Sunday services regularly. At that time, she worked in the front office and assisted the pastor with assembling and designing his monthly pamphlet. Ani most recently served as the treasurer of her local parish. She co-chaired the 2018 Houston Armenian Festival. When she is not serving the Houston Armenian community, she works as an accountant and raises four beautiful children with her husband, Curtis.
